I know that alot of people may not know how to play the game, a good admin will always know the difference between a good player and a bad one, it's quite easy to spot, the tell-tale signs of repetition, behavior, respect towards others, maturity, these are all patterns that can help a staff make the right call. If they continue then you can go from there, some people learn, some don't. It's still fail none the less but could easily be handed better if warned to not be trigger happy, to analyze before taking action and if they don't know how to play you offer to teach them. Now how would you feel about being confusion killed like that? You would assume it's RDM, it would show to most inexperienced staff as RDM and that player who killed the innocent would be flagged for RDM when really he just didin't stop to find out.
Stop and fucking analyze a situation before taking action, don't be trigger happy. RDM and confusion can look similar but make all the difference in regards to quality control. Server owners should understand that confusion is apart of the game when Traitors do it, however not so much when innocents or detectives do it. Again this is just a good gesture, I don't enforce this as a rule and will hold the detective accountable for each death they caused with their false call out.
Its a shitty situation and I ask my members to realize its a game and try to limit the damage caused by the detective. If the victim of the detectives call out kills everyone that attacks then we have basically gained another traitor. Other people aren't aware that the detective called a false KOS and will try to kill you for what from their perspective is a perfectly valid reason. I get that you have the right to defend yourself from anyone who tries to follow up on that kos but it just leads to a shit show. Generally in my community when someone kills the detective after a false call out (when they are innocent) its considered a good gesture to accept that you are going to die and stop killing people in self defense. I generally frown upon people killing the detective over that because its only going to lead to rdm, but I never punish for it since the detective causes such a shitty situation. There is no fantastic answer to that, if a detective calls a KOS on you then you're basically fucked.
It is not against the rules to kill someone calling a KOS on someone but you will likely be seen as a traitor for this and will probably be swiftly put down. If you call a KOS on someone and they turn out to be innocent, you have their blood on your hands and the others could very well kill you out of suspicion after checking the other guy's body.Īlso, calling a KOS on someone gives them the right to defend themselves against you, as you are calling for their death and actively trying to take him down. You call a KOS on someone if you have good reason to suspect that they are a traitor: maybe someone shot you or committed a traitorous act in front of you, Then, you can say KOS followed by the offender's name to call on the all other players to help you in taking down this villain whenever he is next seen. It is usually done by griefers but sometimes people rdm because they are unreasonably suspicious and just shoot you for the heck of it. RDM is the act of killing someone without having suspicion that they are a traitor.
